When I wrote Rainmaking Made Simple I had one clear purpose in mind, to share the very best ideas, tools and techniques for relationship building that I’d learned from coaching thousands of professionals for more than a decade.  Quickly scan the Table of Contents and you’ll notice that each chapter answers a very precise question.  It was my hope that by making the book extremely practical it would become the reader’s “go to” manual for marketing and be the most heavily used book in any professional’s library. My hope has been realized.  Be forewarned that there is much to absorb in each chapter and one reading won’t be enough.  It has achieved an almost cult-like following in large professional service firms. I had the same purpose in mind when I wrote my newest book Relationships Are Everything! In fact, many readers view it as volume II of Rainmaking Made Simple.  The book’s premise is that the foundation and focus of your professional practice should always be on relationships.  Focus on building strong relationships, and your business will thrive and prosper.  Take relationships for granted and you’ll have to work much harder to maintain a profit or keep your practice afloat. I’ve written both books in such a way that every chapter (there are 48 in each book) is designed to answer frequently asked questions I’d get from our coaching clients.

Nearly every chapter issues a call to the reader to take action!  Maybe you’ve noticed a pattern with all our writings, our workshops, and our coaching: They’re asking you to take action!!  What’s the point of reading anything if you’re not going to DO something?!?!

If there were a way to measure the most heavily used books in the world (perhaps a computer chip that would tally each time the book was opened) we’d expect Rainmaking to be in the top 5 for business development books.  WARNING: Do NOT loan your copy of Rainmaking Made Simple to a friend or colleague!!  Hundreds of readers have reported the permanent disappearance of the book after loaning it out.  We’ve also had dozens of readers report that they can’t find their copy and suspect someone “borrowed” it without asking. 

By their very nature, professionals tend to emphasize their technical expertise and downplay or neglect the human side of their businesses.
