Beverly Hedrick
Beverly Hedrick has spent the last 25 years of her career helping professional services providers grow their practices. She began her career working with physicians and for the past 13 years she has devoted her time exclusively to lawyers.
From 1997 to 2008 Beverly was the director of business development at a medium-sized Nashville-based law firm, during which time she developed a keen understanding of the pressures lawyers face while trying to practice law, develop business and balance life/work issues. Also during that time she logged many hours coaching the firm’s top rainmakers and became the “go-to” person for the firm’s most successful lawyers. During thousands of coaching sessions she realized something about herself: she was successful when the lawyers were successful – the true meaning of a coach. Beverly brings a wealth of real-life, practical law firm experience to her coaching and a passion for helping lawyers succeed – however they define success.
Beginning in 2001 Beverly began using the Maraia Method of business development training and networking exclusively, for the next seven years, in her law firm. During that time every partner and many associates were trained.
In 2008 she left her “in house” position to become a partner in a consulting firm and in 2009 she founded the Women Lawyers Alliance, LLC which has become the premier referral and social media network for highly rated women partners in law firms throughout the United States and Canada. Today, in addition to serving the coaching needs of Maraia & Associates, she devotes much of her time supporting and nurturing the careers of women attorneys by providing a strong referral network, business development training, coaching and networking opportunities for members of the WLA.
Beverly is a published author and frequently speaks at conferences and workshops on topics ranging from business development to social media marketing. She also has been a guest lecturer at Vanderbilt University School of Law.
She is active in her community by serving on various non-profit boards. She currently serves as a board member of the Nashville chapter of the YWCA. After serving as chair of the YWCA’s Development Committee for two years, she now serves on the Racial Justice Committee.
Beverly grew up in Denver, Colorado and attended Colorado State University majoring in Psychology and Communications. She now makes Nashville, Tennessee her home.
